More Mouths to Feed Daily Nazjatar
As stated above, there is a small quest line that will be offered to both Horde and Alliance. Upon completion of the initial quest line for either faction, players will have the ability to explore and freely do any of the following activities:
- More quests — There are two introduction quest lines to the island of Mechagon for both Horde and Alliance. The introduction quest lines will differ from each other, but eventually meet together on the island. There are two world quests that will appear and various NPCs that will come to the island to offer various daily quests. We will cover these in more depth later on.
- Operation: Mechagon is a 5-man dungeon that launched alongside Azshara's Eternal Palace after the release of Patch 8.2. This mega-dungeon has 8 bosses and ends with you destroying King Mechagon. You can find a guide for it here.
- Reputations — The Rustbolt Resistance is one of the 8.2 factions. By ranking up all the way to revered, you can buy recipes, mounts, essences for your Heart of Azeroth, and blueprints to craft unique items and equipment.
- Junkyard Tinkering is a crafting system available to all players in Mechagon. It relies on collecting Spare Parts and Energy Cells around the island to craft a number of items: gear (up to item level 420), pets, mounts, toys, etc.
- Construction projects — Throughout the island, you will find various broken machines that are in need of repair. There will be 2 active construction machines active at any given time. You can either repair the machine yourself with materials that you have gathered on the island or you can recruit other players to assist with repairing these machines.
- Rare Elites — There are a total of 37 rare elites for players to defeat on Mechagon. Some will only spawn during the Drill Rig construction projects, Flame Turrets, or Reclamation construction projects.
- New Mounts and Equipment — In Rise Of Azshara, Players could earn new mounts from both Mechagon and Nazjatar. For Mechagon, there are obtainable mounts from questing and from within Operation: Mechagon.
- Achievements — There are a dozen achievements that players can unlock on Mechagon. Completion of the meta-achievement Mecha-Done will unlock a unique mount from Mechagon, while completing Junkyard Tinkmaster will reward you with the Junkyard title.
After players have unlocked their faction's new allies in Nazjatar, they will be able to pick up up the Mechagon breadcrumb quest (Fame Waits for Gnome One in Mezzamere and Rumors of Mechagon in Newhome). Players can also pick up the first quest The Legend of Mechagon/The Legend of Mechagon in Boralus Harbor/Dazar'alor from Tinkmaster Overspark/Gazlowe.

Spare Parts and Energy Cells
One of the first things you will notice in Mechagon is that you keep looting Spare Parts and sometimes also Empty Energy Cells (and more rarely Energy Cells). These items are used exclusively for Junkyard Tinkering, the Mechagon-exclusive profession. Please refer to our Junkyard Tinkering section for more information.
Only Energy Cells are used in Junkyard Tinkering, but they are quite rare compared to Empty Energy Cells. Fortunately, Empty Energy Cells can be recharged using a Charging Station to become Energy Cells. Please refer to our Charging Station section for more information.
4.
Futher Questing in Mechagon
When you complete both quest lines, you can begin to freely explore the rest of the island. There is a total of 11 other locations on the island that you can discover and will have quest lines or daily quests for you complete. They are as follows (with quest lines listed).

5.2.
Construction Projects
In the map above, you can see that there are 5 types of projects on Mechagon: Charging Stations, Reclamation Rigs, Flame Turrets, Drill Rigs, and Rustbolt Armory. Every day, you will be able to complete two different construction projects, each from a different type. These projects repeat all over again all day long for other players to do them, but you can only complete them once each day. The map above mark the possible spawn locations for each type of project.
As you can see in the rare elite section, some Rare Elites only spawn when a given project is up. So you need to pay attention to that, if you are hunting a particular elite.
To find out which projects are available on a given day, you need to speak with Waren Gearheart in Rustbolt. Then, head out to the respective locations to start the project, or help complete a team who has already started. After the project is started, you can contribute to it by donating the required materials ( Spare Parts and Energy Cell in the screenshot above).
After the project starts, mobs will start spawning and try to destroy it. You role is to keep contributing and defend the project. To help you with construction, there are 2 items from Junkyard Tinkering that can be helpful: Emergency Repair Kit and Emergency Powerpack.
There are two achievements linked to construction projects:

Azeorth Mini: Mechagon Set
With Patch 8.2, players will be introduced to a new line of collectible toy games. Jepetto Joybuzz will have a daily quest, Toys Like Us, which will grant players with a starter Mechagon themed Azeroth Minis pack. Players will be able to collect and place each one on a pedestal. These minis are also known to fight each other while on the pedestal.
Like the other visitors of Mechagon, Jepetto Joybuzz is not going to always be in Mechagon, but once players obtain Azeroth Mini Collection: Mechagon from the starter pack, they will be able to begin collecting VIP mini figures. Players will be able to obtain these VIP mini figures from Mechanized Chests around Mechagon, rares that inhabit Mechagon, and from Operation: Mechagon dungeon bosses. At this time, there are currently only 16 of the minis available in game, but the Most Minis Wins achievement requires you to have only 14.

Operation Mechagon Pets
The Mechagon meta-achievement Mecha-Done consists of 10 achievements that you will need to complete in order to unlock access to the Mechacycle Model W ( Keys to the Model W) mount. Because one of these achievements takes at least 50 days to complete, you cannot obtain your Mechacycle Model W before your 50th day on Mechagon.
There is another meta-achiement, Junkyard Tinkmaster, which rewards you with the Junkyard title. It consists in the following achievements.
There is also a standalone achievement, Diversed Investments, which you will no doubt obtain while completing Junkyard Machinist. This achievement can expand further with Diversed Investments, where players will need to complete each contruction project and reach 100% on the progress bar.
Players will be able to do PvP throughout the island of Mechagon. Players will be able to find an open world PvP arena called The Bloody Grotto, which is currently led by Bookie Longshot. Players will be able to locate this arena behind the waterfall at Fleeting Forest and is only open when Grumbol Grimhammer is one of the daily visitors in Rustbolt. Players will be given the chance to fight in a Free-for-All deathmatch arena, where they will fight for a treasure chest that spawns every 30 minutes. When players loot the chest, it will have a lockout, so they are only able to obtain what is inside once per day, per character. Players can obtain Mechagon materials from the chest, such as an Energy Cell, or other helpful items that can be created by Blueprints.
Another form of PvP that is coming to Mechagon is The Robodrome. This will be a new instanced arena that is aimed for level 90 to 120 characters. Players will find that the arena is circular in shape, designed in the style of the engineering of Mechagon. Players can find 3 platforms in the center and each will allow you to get on them from behind, unlike the previous arenas. These ramps will work more like pillars, so that you can use them to break line of sight.
